Corfe Castle stands majestic over its Dorset village namesake. Set in a strategic position between Purbeck hills, Corfe was destroyed by Parliamentarians in the English Civil War, leaving extensive and dramatic ruins.
I wanted to capture some of that majesty and strength in acrylics. Built in the local limestone, the dominant keep seems to grow out of the landscape.
