Bridge on the Walna Scar Road
I love to visit the Lake District (Cumbria) and a favourite area is Coniston and the Old Man. the region is scarred by old slate and copper mines, with slag heaps spilling over the mountain, but it has a romance and ruggedness that I love.
This is a small, ancient bridge on the Walna Scar Road leading up to the mountain and the mines - moody in a lowering mist.
